The season from Thanksgiving to Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. This probably has something to do with the fact that I love my family and I love to eat; two things that go hand in hand during the holidays!
(Speaking of family, my very talented friend took some family photos for us yesterday...check out the sneak peek.)
So because I'm in a festive fall mood and I baked this delicious pie Saturday for Matt's birthday, I just wanted to share one of our favorite holiday recipes with you! You'll LOVE it, I promise!!! (And that's what the pan will look like in no time.)
Pecan Pie
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup white syrup
1/4 cup melted butter
1 cup pecans - 1/2 whole, 1/2 chopped
Mix ingredients in the order given. Place pecans in the bottom of an unbaked pie crust (we like the premade Pillsbury ones the best). Pour mixture over pecans. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Cover edges of pie crust with tin foil for first 15 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream!
