My baby sis, Kelsey attends the school where I left a piece of my heart 8 years ago (holy moly, has it been that long???!)
This summer she is going on a Summer of Service project. She'll be in Bangalore, India for 7 weeks working with Rahab's Rope - in direct contact with women and children who have recently escaped being victims of India's slavery industry. You can follow her blog {http://kdoornenbal.blogspot.com} if you're interested.
She wrote something that I read this morning and it was so encouraging to me:
She's reading a book right now that reminded her that God knew she wasn't going to Kenya this summer (even though that was her plan) before she was even born.
"He knew my plans, and He knew I would be disappointed...but He had something so much greater in store. He is so much greater than I."
Sometimes, don't you think it's true that our pain and disappointment is the embodiment of God's mercy and love in our life? I do.
"Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth." Mt 5:5 - I was reminded in church a couple of weeks ago, or rather taught for the first time really, that the meek are those who among other things, Accept that God's Plan is Good!
Accept that God's plan is good. You. Will. Be. Blessed.
