Whoa! I've officially experienced my first earthquake! It was a little creepy!! I was actually in my car and had just started heading into the the grocery store when the windows on the front of the store started shaking like crazy. Not really knowing quite what to do, I phoned Matt's mom who said it'd probably be a good idea to go home and check things out. After checking things out at our place, and finding only a few pictures off the wall, I headed over to their place. Shortly after I got home from Matt's parents' house, about 30 minutes ago, I felt a jolt which was a small aftershock. Matt was at the hospital, most buildings in LA are built on rollers for this reason, so he said it felt a bit like a gentle roller coaster...the building just swayed back and forth. I've been googling earthquake preparedness...seeing as how I should probably know what to do in the event of a more severe quake!! I'm not even sure what I would have done if I'd been home alone. I'm thinking it might be a good idea to get an emergency kit together this week...
Let's hope the worst is past! Praise the Lord that there hasn't been any serious injuries or structural damage!

I thought of you right away and am glad you survived "literally huh?" your first quake! Still praying for your family, I'm so glad you get to go home for a while to give real hugs and wipe some tears with your family...
oooh! Shake - rattle but no roll!
That's GOOD. Amanda's building at work is 100 yrs. old. Jas' is new. They definitely experienced the shake and wave like motion. Their first earthquake too!
No more please! We remember the one in Mexico City while on a 13th floor of the ElPresidente Hotel. :) Be safe!!
I heard about this on the news and thought about you & Matthew and Jason & Amanda. Glad you are safe and sound!
