So usually when you see a sign that says 'Beware of Dog' it's rather harmless, right?...as long as they're on the opposite side of the fence!! Well, last night Matt and I were jogging, and there are a ton of dogs on our usual route so Matt usually carrys an old golf club just as a precaution...the head of the club is broken off and everything. It's never really been a problem before. But boy was I glad he had it last night!!! As were running suddenly this large boxer comes out of a drive way (the gate to the drive way was obviously wide open). It went at Matt, so he was kind of hitting the club on the ground trying to scare the dog away. THEN...a MASSIVE black dog comes out after the boxer. I mean this thing was absolutely HUGE. I was freaking out, I was frozen in place and my heart was pounding out of my chest! Of course Matt didn't really want to hit them, but I was looking at that club thinking, oh my gosh, if these dogs get mad we don't stand a chance. Thanks to the club, and my big, manly, intimidating husband :) they gradually went back into the yard and we slowly starting walking back up the street. When we were out of the woods, that was all the incentive I needed to book it home! So if you enjoy running or walking, especially in the evening, it's never a bad idea to carry something with you!

Beware of Dog

I am cracking up over the thought of you guys actually running with a club! Ha! I have sprayed pepper spray on a cat before during a walk...seriously, the cat wouldn't leave me alone... pepper spray is much smaller than a club, but nearly as hilarious!
