I just wanted to post a quick update...
Matt had his first full week of work today, and I think the transition is going smoothly. He scheduled his first patients this week, which he'll see next week in addition to more ongoing training, etc. After much prodding from his all female co-workers, we purchased a digital picture frame this week so he could have something for his desk, and of course the ladies were mostly bugging him to bring pictures of his wife. So I hope I meet their expectations! :)
I am in the throws of studying for Advancements. Advancement is an oral exam before a board of professors (2 I think), where I will receive a vignette and have about twenty minutes to compose a thorough assessment, address crisis management and ethical issues, do a differential diagnosis, and a treatment plan. I am trying to prepare as much as I can and am feeling relatively confident, but when it comes down to it, you just pick a vignette out of a hat. So if you think of it, say a prayer for me at 3:00 on Tuesday! I'll post the results! I'm also trying to nail down a practicum site, as January is fast approaching, but I did not hear back from the lady I was hoping to hear from this week. Once that is in place, much of my anxiety will be relieved. Then life will get very busy in January as I continue my full time job, and see clients in the evenings and on Saturdays.
Finally, now that Matt is working full time, we will probably begin the process of looking for a home. We are both anxious to get out of the condo we're renting, and have a home! So we would definitely covet your prayers as we endeavor on this adventure as well.
That's what's up!! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
