A few random things....

This morning I'm thinking of the Jeremy Camp song, There Will Be A Day...

There will be a day with no more tears, no more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place, will be no more, we'll see Jesus face to face
But until that day, we'll hold on to you always

The last two verses say...

Troubled soul don't lose your heart
Cause joy and peace he brings
And the beauty that's in store
Outweighs the hurt of life's sting

I can't wait until that day where the very one I've lived for always will wipe away the sorrow that I've faced
To touch the scars that rescued me from a life of shame and misery this is why this is why I sing

I don't really have any profound thoughts on this song this morning. I'm just sitting quietly and resting its promises. Trying to be still and know that He is God.

To totally and completely switch gears...an another very random note...my friend Melissa shared a great recipe with me. I don't know about you, but I'm always looking for new things to cook for dinner, so I decided that if I come across something I love, I'll share it here with you too! Did I mention it's pretty easy?!? Yah...BONUS!

Fettuccini Alfredo

1 cup butter (can cut this in half...but my husband would say you never decrease the amount of butter a recipe calls for! So if I do I just don't tell him)
1 cup whipping cream
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1/2 cup Romano cheese (I use 1 cup parmesan to cut the cost...cheese is expensive!!)
1 pkg. fettuccini noodles

In a small bowl, cream butter. Beat in cream, a little at a time. Beat in cheeses. Cook fettuccini according to package directions. Drain well. Transfer to warm serving bowl. Add creamed mixture. Toss noodles until coated.

You can add chicken and some spinach. Also add a little bit of pepper to taste.

ENJOY!

And for the final random element of this post...if you're still reading...
It just dawned on me Tuesday night in class that the VERY LAST class in my graduate education falls on March 17, my 26th birthday. What an AWESOME birthday present. I can hardly believe that I've almost completed all of my course-work. On March 30 I will be starting my practicum as a trainee at a domestic violence shelter. My prayer is that God would equip me with the strength to work with these hurting women, and perseverance and determination to have nothing but a positive spirit in the midst of 9 months of 55 hour work weeks! I want to be His hands and feet.

We're enjoying time with friends from Michigan this week. The girls TOTALLY dominated at Sequence last night. And I may finally have something photograph - worthy to post on the blog. It's been a while. Have a great weekend!
