routine

You heard it here first folks.

I am a creature of habit.

My husband will testify to this fact.

It's a characteristic that has been especially pronounced as of late. I'm reaching the end of my rope when it comes to the drastic changes that have occurred in our daily routine lately. Not to mention, I'm not certain it helps that I'm crazy-hormone-pregnant-lady right now. Needless to say we've been pretty much consumed with working on the house. So I often don't get a chance to "see" my husband until around 9:00, at which point we're both so exhausted that we lay on the couch for about an hour until one of us falls asleep and we go to bed. I would just love to have a meaningful conversation with my husband....about something other than light switch covers or flooring. But nonetheless, somehow this week turned into one of those busy we-have-something-every-night weeks and I'm craving our routine. Consequently, I find myself obsessing over menial things like dusty floors and flawed "new" washing machines, and dictating to-do's to my husband like he's my servant.

Then you know what happened this morning? I was knocked back down onto my knees yet again in awe of such a great God. I heard the baby's heart beating (never gets old). The little bugger kicked the doppler during the exam :) Head's still down. This morning wasn't the first time my Dr said something like, "Everything looks great, sometimes I'll see patients every week after 36 but you hardly need a Dr. See you in two weeks."

Translation: I am healthy and so is our baby!

Seriously. Who cares if my floor is dusty.

Good to put it all in perspective, Robyn! And remember, although rehabbing a house is exhausting and does take up all your time at first, it is a season. You guys will be proud of all you did and you will get back to having evenings and weekends together :)
