4 months

I know I'm probably going to feel this way every time another month passes, but wow, my baby is growing up! Does the feeling ever fade? My mom was just telling me not too long ago how she remembers every single thing about the day I was born, almost 28 years ago! So, I think not.

Miss Emma is at home today ringing in her 4-month birthday with a mild fever. I'm barely keeping my eyes open at work because I was up with her for much of the night as she slept quite fitfully. I remember feeling much like this when my little (not so much anymore) sister Kelsey had the flu once while I was babysitting, and I would have done anything to feel sick "for" her. Same story, only now it is probably becoming the story of the rest of my life! Matt started coming down with something on our last day in Iowa and it turned into a pretty nasty cold this weekend so she probably caught it from him. Fortunately she's scheduled to go in for her 4-month Well Baby visit tomorrow so we'll get everything checked out.

It has been so fun to watch her grow and change in the last month. She has the cutest little happy squeal, it makes us giggle all the time. And she is so full of smiles for everyone, it's so neat to see her little personality coming out! She has the biggest, most beautiful blue eyes and most of the time they just melt my heart. She loves watching all of her new Praise Baby DVD's and reading all of the awesome books she got for Christmas. I decided to start what I hope will become kind of a neat tradition for us. I got her a new book and wrote her a letter from mommy and daddy in the cover. I hope to do this every year. It only seemed fitting to kick off the tradition with Guess How Much I Love You.

I love you to the moon and back Emma.
