smartie or dum dum???

Every once in awhile at Mops we share stories for which you are awarded either a pack of smarties or a dum dum.....you get the idea.

I have plenty of "dum dum" stories...the most recent of which happened this weekend. We were at Disneyland and it was a gorgeous evening. I dressed a little nicer than I maybe normally would (a nice tank top + boots & skinny jeans) because we had to stop at David's Bridal before so that I could try on my bridesmaid dress and I just hate walking into those places feeling all frumpy. (Can I get an Amen??!) So anyways...I'd thrown a sweater and scarf in for the evening cuz it gets a little chilly.

It was super busy so we headed over to California Adventure and went on a few fun little rides in A Bug's Land...Emma LOVED them and we hardly had to wait at all. She giggled the whole time...and we basked in the happiness and joy of being her parents! So far, the happiest place on earth indeed. Then we headed over to her favorite ride...The Little Mermaid...but there was about a 30 minute wait so we opted for a visit to Corn Dog Castle instead...yes please! I pulled the backpack out from under the stroller to get my wallet. After we ate I reached into the bottom of the stroller to grab my sweater and much to my dismay it was not there. Almost positive that I had put it in the stroller...I was crushed because I figured I must have lost it at some point when I pulled the bag out. I had brought along my favorite scarf that was given to me by a friend who lives and puchased it in Jerusalem. We walked back to The Little Mermaid ride and checked lost and found but I figured it was long gone. We decided to head out because it was getting chilly....and well, that's the beauty of annual passes! Also, I didn't have a sweater :( I was seriously so bummed the whole way home. I was so, so sad about losing my favorite scarf...

On our way to church yesterday I glanced in the rear view mirror and saw the stroller in the back...and in a way that can only make me wonder how exactly our brains work...I suddenly and so very clearly remembered that I had put my sweater and scarf in the little pouch on the back of our stroller rather than in the bottom basket.

HELLO DUM DUM.
