If I had to describe our weekend in three words it would be - hot, football & Disneyland!
On Friday morning Emma and I left for Bakersfield with my friend Amber (she's the Athletic Trainer for OC) and we arrived at the hotel in time to get in a swim before the JV game. Emma fell asleep in the car on our way over to the high school so I let her sleep for a little while (these are the only poor quality cell phone pics I got of the whole weekend...not neccessarily the highlights...but all I got). It was about 100 degrees so we were both sweating, but with the exception of the heat it was a great evening. The JV team won 34-19...I was so proud of my hubby who called the Offense for the first time in his coaching career! This may seem insignificant, but after four years of doing this and listening to lots of football talk that often goes over my head, I finally learned what Veer is (one of their running plays). That was big for me :) The Varsity team also won 37-7 with some stellar pass protection by the O-line (they must have a great coach!!)
In the second quarter of the Varsity game, (at this point it was about 2 hours past her bedtime) Emma layed down on the bleachers in front of me. She was such a champ though. The battery in our Jeep decided to go out at the school so we were stranded until about 11 p.m. She did great though, and we had a great weekend considering the late night! Looking forward to the football season, and hoping some football weather makes its way to Southern California soon. Last night we went to Disneyland because our passes are open again after being blacked out for the summer. It was a happy time - as usual. I'll post more about some of our favorite things about Disneyland very soon!
