As many of you know (or maybe don't), I work in a program called the Learning Development Center...it is a branch of Disability Programs & Services at the local community college. Basically it is a two year job readiness program for students with disabilities. The general population that we serve are those students who don't quite have the academic skills to mainstream at the college, however, without a transitional program like ours they will likely "fall between the cracks." I love this program very much! Because of my mom's work, I was involved with individuals who have special needs at a young age, and so this work holds a special place in my heart. Today I had the opportunity to go out to a Career Fair to do some recruitment for the program. The fair was for high school special ed students (anywhere from those taking one resource class to special day classes). These students energized me today, and I feel so blessed to encounter them, even if only momentarily, at such a transitional period of their lives and effect change in their futures!! I've been struggling lately to be motivated at work for a number of reasons mostly just because of the lack of work to keep me busy, but today I sat back and said, Wow God, you knew what you were doing when you placed me here...help me not to get so comfortable that I don't hear your voice!!
Just a little bit about the other "half" of my life right now besides work...school. I'm in the Master's in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy program at Chapman University. Last night during a role play, I had to be the therapist, and my professor was the client. (Nothing like going up against Michael Jordan if you know what I mean!) But it was a great experience. I'm receiving affirmation from our heavenly Father, that this is the area He has gifted me in and called me to. It is amazing to feel that blessed assurance.

Hi Robyn, I'm reading this book right now by Max Lucado called Living in Your Sweet Spot...it's all about what you wrote...finding your "place", what you're meant to be doing. So, I'm glad to hear that you have found your "Sweet Spot". : )
