aspirations.

I hesitate to even formulate the thinking I've been doing about "New Year's Resolutions" and turn it into a blog post because well, let's be honest a year is a long time and the reality is that achieving all 12 of these is a long shot. I know that by March 23rd I will probably have forgotten all about this post. But aspirations aren't all bad either so here you have it - my goal is to look forward and just aspire for improvement in these small areas of my life :)

12. read a book to my girl every day
11. spend more time in the back yard than the TV room
10. eat chicken & waffles
9. spend less on frivolous things (*ahem, Starbucks. Seriously loving the Keurig I got for Christmas! Thanks babe.)
8. give more
7. start memorizing scripture again
6. lose 5 lbs before my sister's wedding in june (I know I know, I'm cringing as I type this one too...I feel like this is the token New Year's Resolution that never happens. I suck at working out & I love ice cream, but I'm telling you that size 8 bridesmaid's dress is incentive!)
5. make a vegetarian meal once a week
4. teach Emma her abc's :) (oh, it's going to be such a fun, fun year!!!)
3. be a more gracious wife & mother
2. volunteer in some way
1. love the Lord my God with all my heart and with all my soul and with all my strength (Deut. 6:5)

Happy 2012 friends!!

If I'da known you REALLY wanted to eat chicken and waffles I'da pushed it more. I wasn't feeling it after all the Christmas/New Years food. We can do it when I'm home for the PE (hopefully :)
