So...I was tagged on Facebook...and I don't have anything riveting to blog about this week...so here you have it...a good old copy & paste! :) Feel free to join in the fun if you're not bored to tears by the end!In no particular order, here are the first 30 things that came to mind...
1. I am 1/2 Canadian...my dad's family lives in various parts of Canada.
2. I have somehow morphed into a rather die-hard Indianapolis Colts fan over the last few years.
3. At the age of 25, my husband and I had annual passes to Disneyland, and LOVED it!!
4. I have to resist the urge to turn into the Starbucks drive-thru almost every time I drive by on my way to work...Grande White Mocha please!!!
5. My sweet husband got me a substantial gift card to the Spa for Christmas because he is so very thoughtful...I love him!
6. Last month marked the first time in our marriage that we earned 2 incomes AND openned a savings account...Woohoo!!! :)
7. I would really love to visit these places with my husband some day: New York City, Seattle, Yellowstone National Park, Europe, Israel, Hawaii...
8. In years, I am the oldest of 4 girls in my family, and I love being an older sister, but in wisdom, strength, faith, maturity, and life experience my sister, Ashley, tops the charts after this past year.
9. I have climbed Half Dome in Yosemite 3 times.
10. In March, I will be starting my practicum in Marriage & Family Therapy at a domestic violence shelter, I am looking forward to embarking on the career path that God has for me!
11. My body is absolutely and completely 100% adjusted to California weather, and I discovered this somewhat painfully while going home during quite possibly the coldest week of the winter.
12. I am an Angels fan, and my husband is a Twins fan, and I just LOVE it when the Angels beat the Twins! :)
13. I'm a particular sleeper...sometimes it takes me a while to find just the right spot!
14. I used to sleepwalk when I was younger.
15. I love to cook & try new recipes, but it doesn't come naturally, I need to follow a recipe!
16. My all time favorite book is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
17. Throughout my education I have learned that there are good professors (even great ones!) and bad professors, and you kind of just have to deal with it. I believe higher education has a lot to do with personal responsibility.
18. I feel closest to God when I'm laying on the beach with my eyes closed, listening to the sound of the ocean.
19. I made it to every single one of Matt's home and away football games in his junior and senior years of college...and those road trips with my girls are some of my best college memories!
20. In college, I worked at Dairy Queen for about 3 years, and became a master icecream cake decorator :)
21. Since my nephew passed away recently, I've found myself living life with a renewed longing for heaven.
22. I read the blogs of several complete strangers and sometimes find myself feeling as though we are friends who could meet for coffee after work.
23. I'm kind of a reality TV junky...totally get hooked on the Bachelor every single season even though it never lasts! And I love Project Runway! (but don't get cable anymore)
24. I always fall asleep during movies.
25. Every once in a while I like to call my husband Dr. Hoekstra...it has a nice ring to it! :)
26. My hands shake when I get nervous.
27. I want to have 3 or 4 kids.
28. I get choked up whenever I'm in an airport and I see a soldier reuniting with his or her family.
29. I usually talk on the phone with my mom at least two or three times a week...often on my way home from work.
30. I had a banana with peanut butter for breakfast this morning and have resolved to eat more fruits and veggies in 2009!
