Wow! This is my 28th week. Time flies when you're having fun....and growing a baby!
The second trimester has been fantastic. And I want to remember every single thing about it! Almost everything, except the prunes and constant craving for sweets and sciatica. But really, I have been so very blessed.
Here are just a few tid bits for the history books little one...
-You baby became an acrobat around 23 weeks, and quite possibly a pole vaulter around 26 causing my entire tummy to jut outwards :) especially when I'm laying on the couch on my left side, providing endless evening entertainment.
-One day you started dancing around in my tummy when I was singing to you on my way home from work, and I thought for sure that must be why.
-I just learned that your gender has been solely "determined" by your daddy's chromosomes, not sure how I missed the memo on that one in biology class.
-I held your friend Micah shortly after he was born (well, you don't know he's going to be your friend yet, but I really think he is) and suddenly I fell even more deeply in love with you, and longed even more intensely to meet you. T minus 12 weeks!!
-How funny it is that everyone at Kaiser thinks we're absolutely crazy for not finding out if you're a boy or girl. When I told the ultrasound tech at my 18 wk appt she said, and these were the only 6 words she uttered the entire time with an incredibly indescribable perplexed look on her face, "Well, how are you gonna paint?" Um, seriously?!
-Your daddy keeps telling me that instead of singing to you I should start teaching you addition and subtraction so you'll get really smart :) I think you like the singing better, and I'm pretty convinced you're already smart so we'll work on the other stuff later.
-I'm sorry if you don't like prunes, neither do I, but actual prunes taste about a million times better than prune juice, and I promise to never feed you either unless it's absolutely necessary!
-I'm pretty sure I could eat ice cream at any time of the day...and I think you're going to love it too if you're anything like your mom. I've been craving a peanut butter cup blizzard for the last week and a half! I have also been craving salami rather intensely (so odd), but they say no lunch meat :(
-This morning I spent hours at work painstakingly going over the details of maternity/FMLA leave, and am wondering how I'm possibly going to be able to face the prospect of going back to work!
-It's officially gotten too hot for our daily walks on my lunch break, and bringing my yoga dvd to work was the best idea ever! I feel great.....for at least an hour until I start craving that blizzard like crazy again!
-Your daddy almost always puts his hand on my tummy when we're laying on the couch. I think he's kind of jealous that I get to feel you kick all the time so I try to tell him whenever you wake up!
We already love you more than you can possibly imagine! I'm starting to imagine what you're going to look like. And I think lots about what we're going to name you (too much your daddy says). I'm also starting to imagine what your room is going to look like in our new house. It's just amazing to think that we'll get to meet you in 3 months.....just amazing.
