- It's week 26, the baby is around 2 lbs in weight and close to 14 inches long (head to heals). I just read this morning that the baby might open its eyes for the first time this week, which is kind of cute because last night Matt stuck his nose into my belly and said, see baby, this is what my nose looks like :)
- No news on the house. The bank countered all 5 offers. I hate these games.
- This morning I had to go back into the lab for a 3-hour glucose test. After the first test my blood sugar was higher than normal. If it is still coming out high after this test, this may be indicative of gestational diabetes and I will have to meet with a nutritionist. Making a pregnant lady fast for 14 hours is no joke, and getting your blood drawn four times isn't exactly a party either. But I survived! Please join us in praying that everything is normal!
- If you need some encouragement today, read Psalm 46. I learned about something called Lectio Divina at our evening service this weekend. I found it to be such a neat way to read scripture, and I was so blessed as we practiced it together as a congregation while reading and meditating on Psalm 46.
- It's already Tuesday! Thank you Jesus for the long weekend. I had a challenging week at work last week, and was in need of an extended break. On Sunday I was renewed and reminded that my hope and strength is found in Christ alone!
I hope you're blessed this week. And thank you for staying connected with our lives in this small way. I'd really love to know if there is anything specific that I can pray for for you this week. Please don't hesitate to comment (I'm not even sure who's out there in the world wide web reading) or email me at robynhoekstra@hotmail.com.
