I'm sitting on the upper deck patio of the beach house we're staying at with my in-law's this week. The sound of the waves crashing on the sand is soothing my soul. The family's off at Old Man's (beach) surfing, Emma's napping, and I'm soaking in a little alone time. Reading the beautiful words of Ann Voskamp's One Thousand Gifts. I will post more about our vacation later...but for now I just wanted to share this quote...it spoke right to my heart...a good one, indeed for moms from a mom:
"Do I hold worry close as this ruse of control, this pretense that I'm the one who will determine the course of events as I stir and churn and ruminate? Worry is the facade of taking action when prayer really is."
