A few things I'd like to remember about my first trimester...

I have had some of the absolute CRAZIEST dreams of my life since I got pregnant. The other night I was a Sea World killer whale trainer...sound familiar?!? They are so real and vivid that I often wake up feeling like I've had a busy night.

Cheetos have honestly, never in my whole life, tasted so good.

The look on my mom's face when she opened the ultrasound picture I wrapped for her in a frame that says Blessings :) She wasn't wearing her glasses, so she spent a few seconds trying to read what the frame said...until she suddenly realized what was inside and started screaming!!

The way I felt when I heard my baby's heartbeat for the first time. It was one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had, and it was the moment I fell in love. (This morning I realized it was just as mesmerizing the second time!)

The big happy bear hug I got from Matt's brother when I saw him for the first time after we told him he was going to be an Uncle.

How special it was to me the first time my husband leaned down and kissed my tummy, and all the many other small ways he's shown me his excitement for our first child.

I will surely never forget that when you're of childbearing age, 6 weeks pregnant, and eating Saltines at work everyone will guess that you're pregnant...and you will have to lie :)

That everyone who told me that my perspective on my career ambitions would probably change a bit when I got pregnant was so right. I love counseling. But I feel like all I want to do now is be a mom.

That around 11 weeks I started showing a little early for a first time mom and had to cover it up a little because we didn't tell our friends for about another week.

The time the doctor doing my 13-week ultrasound told me I was going to have a tall baby, and my 6'6" husband wasn't even with me!! I still sort of forget how tall I am in SoCal because my height's really average for Iowa.

I am 14 weeks on the dot today. Baby's heart is beating fast and strong just like it should be! I'm so excited for the second trimester!
