demo

Here we go.....the demo has begun.....we are going to put black granite around the fireplace, and drywall over the brick. I think it will change the look of the room a lot!
I'm too impatient to wait until the projects are done, so I guess you'll get to see the progression as we go along. I can't wait to do before & after posts. We're almost ready to drywall the back room.
The fireplace and the back room are the big projects that need to get finished before we paint and do the flooring. We have run into some termite damage that has slowed things up a bit already. Last night we worked in the back yard for a while. Matt started a compost pit and we trimmed our orange and grapefruit trees. We have citrus fruit coming out of our ears....and fresh squeezed OJ is my new favorite thing!!! We bought a juicer from Target the other night :) And I just had a grapefruit for breakfast! We're loving it. My mom flies in Wednesday night so we'll probably start painting bedrooms this weekend. I'm hoping to head to Home Depot today to nail down paint colors. I probably won't be doing a lot of painting because Matt thinks I should stay out of the fumes as much as I can. He suggested that I park my lawn chair outside the windows so I can keep them company :) I've already had to remind myself to sit down and take lots of breaks, which is hard especially when it means sitting there and watching Matt work but he's great.

Last night after we got done working in the yard, we sat on the patio talking about how different our lives are going to be in 8 weeks! I'm just taking it one day at a time, and trying not to get too overwhelmed. I look at friends' pictures on facebook who are 25 weeks pregnant and have their nursery's done already, and have to remind myself to breath! We're hoping baby Hoekstra doesn't decide to make his/her entrance into the world TOO early!!

FUN!!! I LOVE before/after AND progression pictures. Its a nice way to keep those of us who are not close up to date. Hope the termite damage wasn't TOO bad. Love you guys. You are going to be GREAT parents. AND... don't worry if the baby enters before things are finished. You will be just fine. :)
